Got that? That book you all bought yesterday and have been reading and blogging about? It doesn't actually exist yet, according to Amazon.

The phrase "adding insult to injury" springs to mind.

Update, 17 November Still, things could be worse. Oh, hold on ...

  1. I got the same email, but about the new Scott Pilgrim book people claim came out yesterday.

  2. I did consider calling this post "And now, a bare-faced lie from Amazon.com", but it seemed excessive.

  3. Yep, got the email as well.

Even more annoying is the fact that Jess Nevins has already got the annotations up !

  5. JP - It's only on sale in the USA, which is why I ordered a copy from Amazon.com. But Brian Hibbs reports that the first printing has already sold out.

  6. Has this to do with anything with the copyright issue?

I wonder Amazon is forbidden from sending 'The Black Dossier' to addresses within the UK.

  7. I suspect that it has more to do with the "not printing enough copies" issue.

  8. FWIW, they sent me my copy immediately. (I'd pre-ordered it in August 2006... maybe they did them in the order they were reserved?)

Still very frustrating -- for us: I'd like to read your review!

  9. If you've not been able to secure a copy yet, you might want to pop down to Leeds. There's people there who will see you OK, if you know what I mean. Nudge, wink, etc.

  10. Et in arcadia ego?

Thanks for the tip, Tim, but Amazon now claims to have posted it. Fingers crossed (mine, not theirs).
